2017 Volunteer Opportunities

In 2017, I volunteered at a number of events within the Mankato community, whether it be with friends, with my Honors Learning Community: Leadership and Civic Engagement, or with for the Honors 401 class, Exploring Personal Leadership through Social Change. After these events I reflected in journals entries on how these events have made me further grow as a leader for causes and organizations I am passionate about.  I learned this semester how easy it is to volunteer, whether it be on campus or in the surrounding area. In volunteering at these events, I utilized my personal values of leadership within campus and in the community to benefit others and spread important social messages, further exploring and utilizing the servant leadership model. This proponent of my volunteering allowed me to utilize personal values and theories of  leadership within campus and community organizations. In working with different groups of people and their individual skills in all of these opportunities, I was able to achieve set common and important goals.
